The Federation of Uganda Football Associations Disciplinary Panel has come down hard on Kiyinda Boys FC, docking the club two points, two goals and imposing a UGX 1 million fine following violent scenes that overshadowed their FUFA Big League clash with Kigezi HomeBoyz FC on March 25, 2026, at Betharm City Recreation Centre in Kiwenda.
The fixture, expected to be a fiercely contested second-tier encounter, instead spiraled into disorder after individuals linked to the home side allegedly turned on match officials and a visiting player in shocking scenes of hooliganism that have rattled the integrity of the competition.
In its ruling aimed at restoring discipline, FUFA enforced an immediate deduction of two points and two goals. The suspended sanction will take effect if the club fails to identify and present the perpetrators within 14 days.
The disciplinary report highlighted several suspects captured in acts of aggression, including an individual wielding a stick, another in jersey number 6 accused of shoving the referee in the facial area, one attacker reported to have struck the referee on the head, and another who allegedly assaulted the goalkeeper using a wooden board.
FUFA has also issued a strong formal warning to Kiyinda Boys FC, cautioning that any repeat of such misconduct could trigger heavier sporting sanctions.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy on hooliganism, FUFA stressed that clubs must guarantee safety and order on match day, warning that acts of violence threaten not only players and officials but also the credibility and competitive spirit of the FUFA Big League.
