President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has arrived in Tanzania for a two-day working visit expected to reinforce Uganda and Tanzania’s strategic partnership through high-level talks on trade, regional integration, infrastructure development, and security.

The visit, at the invitation of Tanzanian President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, comes as the two neighbouring countries continue to strengthen economic cooperation and coordinate on key regional priorities within the East African Community (EAC).

During the visit, the two counterparts are expected to hold bilateral discussions focusing on expanding trade and investment, accelerating cross-border infrastructure projects, enhancing peace and security cooperation, and advancing regional integration.

The two leaders are also expected to explore new areas of collaboration aimed at deepening the longstanding diplomatic and economic ties between Kampala and Dodoma.

President Museveni arrived at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam on Thursday, August 5th, 2026, where he was received by Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (MP), Uganda’s High Commissioner to Tanzania, Col Fred Mwesigye, and other senior government officials.
