The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has issued a registration deadline for candidates across the country through its Principal Public Relations Officer (PRO), Jennifer Kalule Musamba on Thursday, July 27, 2023.
She reminded heads of centers, candidates and parents that the last phase of the late registration for the 2023 examinations would be ending on Monday, July 31, 2023.
Musamba called upon any learners who intends to register for these examinations, for instance Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) to ensure that they register before the end of July 31, 2023.
She added that during this period, the surcharge for registration is 100%.
“This is 100% of the fees of 34.000 PLE, 164.000 for UCE and 186.000 UACE. So if anybody is registering for this period, they will have to pay twice as much that amount,” Musamba noted.
“Heads of centers are also reminded to give the learners an opportunity to confirm the correctness of the data that has been uploaded. Let the learners look out for the correctness of their names, order of names, date of birth, resolution of the pictures uploaded, the gender attached to their names, the choices of schools and the subjects registered for,” Musamba guided.
She guided that in case there are any amendments to be made, the concerned parties should confirm with UNEB and ensure that the board is informed.
Musamba noted that, amendments made before July 31, 2023, will be free of charge although any amendments made after the above communicated date will have to be paid for.
She also informed teachers that, after the set date, there will be no opportunity for registering any candidate.
The PRO urged teachers and parents to support learners during this period so that no learner is left out.
