The National Unity Platform (NUP) party president, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, has called on the people of Acholi sub region to embrace change and join the broader Ugandan population in the quest for a new government.

Speaking during campaign rallies in Lamwo and Kitgum districts on Friday, 31st October, 2025, and Pader district on Saturday, 1st November, 2025, Kyagulanyi pledged that, if elected president, he will form an inclusive government where all tribes are equally represented.

“You will never hear one tribe saying it is more important than others. Today, even the DPCs of Kitgum and Lamwo speak the same language. If you make me president, all tribes will matter,” Kyagulanyi said.

During his Kitgum rally, Kyagulanyi accused the current government of attempting to bribe him, a move he rejected. He claimed that instead, the government has been co-opting ghetto youth, paying them off with money that could otherwise fund essential public services.

“Museveni tried to buy me off, but I refused. He went to the ghetto, recruited some friends like Butcherman, and paid them peanuts,” the NUP party president stated.

“In Kitgum, he even bought off some musicians. Tell Bosmic that he is still my brother and that his words do not come from the heart. The funds given for ‘Tubonga Nawe’ could pay teachers,” he added.

While addressing residents in Pader at Pajule Town Council, Kyagulanyi urged Ugandans to mobilize and vote out the current NRM regime if they are to see meaningful change in their communities.

“I am here to tell you that you are the solution. I present myself to lead you in a new Uganda where all of us shall be one people, equal under a new government. We will ensure regional balance and prioritize areas that have long been overlooked,” he stated.

As Kyagulanyi concludes his fifth week of campaigns in Lango, Acholi, and Karamoja subregions, his message has consistently emphasized unity, noting that meaningful change can only be achieved when Ugandans stand together.

Kyagulanyi’s campaign trail continues with visits to Pader and Agago districts today,1st November, 2025 before taking a short break on Sunday, 2nd November, 2025.

He will resume on Monday, 3rd November, 2025, with rallies in Greater Masaka, including Gomba and Butambala districts, before moving on to Lyantonde, Sembabule, and then the Ankole sub region.
