In Hoima City, President Museveni visited a mixed farm owned by one David Irumba at Bulera cell, Bulera ward, Hoima East Division, established in 2018 after listening to various wealth creation campaign messages from the president.

Museveni gave Irumba Shs120 million to purchase a feed mixer machine for his poultry, Shs80 million to acquire another value-added machine, and a truck to transport his products to the markets.

“It is easy to get rid of poverty in Uganda. He wants to transport and sell eggs in distant places. Irumba should be supported to buy a feed mixer machine that mixes pellets for chickens valued at 120 million. He needs to acquire a value-added machine to separate York from white for export values at 80 million shillings,” President Museveni said.

According to the president, Ugandans should embrace value addition in poultry products.

“What can we get out of eggs? Our people should wake up; we have to process eggs and export.

Irumba has a total of over 50,000 birds (layers); currently he produces over 500 trays per day, earning him Shs5 million a day, and he saves Shs2.5 million in net profit after securing cost.

He informed the President that every month, he saves a net profit of Shs 75 million from his poultry project and intends to start producing about 1200 trays per day, which will be earning him some Shs 12 million daily after a year.

At his farm, Irumba also ventures into goat rearing and coffee growing.

President Museveni also supported Brian Mujuni, the LCI of Bukera Village, with Shs10 million to buy a tricycle to support his poultry products to be marketed.
