Singer Kusasira to Celebrate 20 Years of Music Career

The Wafuka Bikadde singer said that the concert slated for January 2025 is to celebrate 20 years of her music career.

Ugandan singer Catherine Kusasira is set to celebrate 20 years of her music career in a concert dubbed ‘The Roots of Catherine Kusasira – Old Is Gold’ on Friday, January 2025, at the Kampala Sheraton Gardens.

She will be accompanied by legendary musicians like Mariam Ndagire, Afrigo Band, Mesach Ssemakula, Maddox Ssematimba, Lord Fred Sebatta, Ronald Mayinja, Fred Sseruga, and Sophie Nantongo, among others.

During the press conference at the Sheraton Kampala hotel, legendary musician Mesach Ssemakula called upon Kusasira’s fans to support her in big numbers on the day of the concert and also prayed for her to have a successful concert.

“We wish you a successful show on the 10th.” We call upon all your fans to come and support you,” he said.

Ssemakula said that the time had come for the public to recognize Kusasira’s worth asking for divine intervention from the Lord.

“’We pray that you make her capable of performing in the same way that past legendary musicians have, that people come out in large numbers to support her, and that you provide her with the health she needs to succeed,” Ssemakula said.

Speaking to Nexus media, the Wafuka Bikadde singer said that she decided to hold her concert to celebrate 20 years of her music career in January so as to be able to concentrate on her education and avoid interruptions during her final year of her degree.

“I decided to do this concert in January because the months after then will be demanding for me; for example, I am in my final year of completion of my degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, and I am graduating in October 2025,” Kusasira said.

She is known for her songs like Wafuka Bikadde, Enkola Ya Taxi, Society Enongoseemu, Amanda, Ssi Ddogo, Bwosiba Face, Obeerawo, Honey Wange, Kambasalize, Mr. Handsome, Poko Poko, Maama, Bawe, Sikyazunga, Akajanja, and many more.

The lovers of the singer will part with Ug. Shs. 100,000, 2.5 million for a silver table of 8 people, and 5 million for a gold table of 4 people.
