If convicted under Section 11(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act, the accused individuals could face a prison sentence of up to seven years and a fine not exceeding Ugx 5.3 million.

The protesters had seven key demands, among them being the resignation of Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, the resignation of the four back bencher commissioners, reducing the number of Members of Parliament (MPs), and reducing the MPs' salaries and allowances to Ugx 3 million, among others.
The March to Parliament, which is scheduled to take place on July 23, 2024, has no known leader as of now, as it has been classified as a partyless and leaderless campaign where concerned citizens are meant to march to parliament in a demonstration against corruption.
