With just days to kick-off, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have confirmed that ticketing for the upcoming TotalEnergies CHAN PAMOJA 2024 matches in Uganda will be entirely digital with no physical tickets available for sale.
Addressing the media at the Uganda Media Centre on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, officials unveiled the final ticketing arrangements, pricing, and stadium entry protocols for the tournament.
The Mandela National Stadium (Namboole) will host Group C matches, featuring heavyweights Algeria, Guinea, Niger, South Africa, and host nation Uganda.
“CAF has not provided for an option of selling physical tickets. All sales are digital and managed via the CAF ticketing portal,” said Dr. Dennis K. Mugimba, Chairperson of the Communications and Signage Sub-Committee.
He said fans will pay Ushs 10,000 (Ordinary) and Ushs 50,000 (Premium) per day, with one ticket granting access to both matches scheduled on that day. However, re-entry will not be allowed once a fan exits the stadium.
“Each ticket gives you access to two matches if scheduled on the same day. But once you leave the stadium, you cannot re-enter,” Dr. Mugimba emphasized.
Tickets can be accessed by visiting CAF’s official website or scanning the QR codes being circulated via media and social platforms. The digital platform allows fans to select seating sections, view available fixtures, and complete payments without visiting physical outlets.
Although the CHAN 2024 tournament officially starts on August 2 in Tanzania, Uganda’s first matchday is Monday, August 4, with a double-header at Namboole: Niger vs. Guinea – 5:00 p.m. and Uganda Cranes vs. Algeria – 8:00 p.m.
The 32,000-seater stadium, which underwent major renovations to meet CAF requirements, will host 12 matches across 8 matchdays, including 09 Group C matches, 01 Quarterfinal, 01 Semifinal and 3rd Place Playoff
The LOC has launched aggressive promotional campaigns across TV, radio, digital platforms, and social media to ensure fans are informed and energized ahead of kickoff.
“This is not just a tournament—it’s a celebration of local football talent. Uganda is honored to showcase African football at its finest,” said Dr. Mugimba.
He added that both the Uganda Cranes and other Group C teams have begun settling into their base camps, signaling readiness for what is expected to be a fiercely contested championship.
CHAN 2024, jointly hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania under the PAMOJA partnership, is Africa’s premier tournament for players active in domestic leagues.
Hosting CHAN positions Uganda at the heart of continental football development, highlighting its improved infrastructure, organizational capacity, and passionate fanbase.
Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early to avoid missing out on this rare opportunity to witness elite football at home.
