The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party has evaluated its performance in the general elections of 2026 and equipped women and youth leaders with necessary skills to empower the party in the Buganda Region.

The sub-regional post-election review and women’s leadership training of Alliance for National Transformation attendees took place over the weekend at Cardinal Nsubuga Leadership Centre in Nsambya. Participants included delegates and youth leaders from Masaka, Wakiso, Mukono, and other districts.

The party president, Maj Gen (Rtd.) Mugisha Muntu, told delegates that politics in Uganda is increasingly money-oriented and warned that if not careful, any party that will come to power will repeat the same mistake.

“We must break that culture,” he said, adding that ANT was spending much time and resources to train leaders who can provide good governance.

According to Muntu, his party is working one brick at a time.

He called for continuous identification of aspirants and mobilization at the parish and village level in preparation for LC1.

The National Coordinator, Alice Alaso, made the audit of the process of identification and mobilization of candidates. Additionally, she advised the coordinators that did not put a single aspirant to reflect on their roles and be good mobilizers.

ANT congratulated its two successful councilors in Buganda and commended all those who had offered themselves to be candidates.

The National Coordinator of Women’s League, Angelline Asio Osegge, challenged the participants, in particular, youth members, to gain negotiating and communication skills of leaders.

“A leader is one who directs society and leads by example,” she noted, emphasizing integrity, respect, and listening more than talking.

The event ended with motivational calls and encouragement for ANT party members to continue the hard work and make the party stronger.
