The People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) has reinforced its vision to further the struggle against the ruling regime, alleging continued mismanagement of state affairs.

According to Erias Lukwago, the interim president of the PFF party, the change-seeking forces in the country should forget existing differences, reunite, and prepare to push the ruling regime out of power to regain power in Uganda.

“We must revamp the mobilization and networking, like we have been doing campaigns, to continue the struggle for freedom because it is the reason we exist as PFF,” Lukwago said.

While addressing the press on Monday, January 3rd, 2026, at the party headquarters at Katonga Road in Kampala, Lukwago revealed that his party is going to act as a referee in the process of championing the struggle to rescue Uganda.

“The PFF is committed to championing the rescue agenda for the country and for the political prisoners,” Lukwago said.

He added that whereas the party is engaged in different avenues to liberate Uganda, its core agenda this year is to rescue the political prisoners from every political wing, adding that the party is determined to pursue it without fear or favor.

“The most immediate one now is to get all our comrades who are languishing in different prisons in Uganda, and ask all Ugandans to join us in this struggle, and ensure we rescue our motherland Uganda,” he said.

Lukwago also commented on the recent parliamentary and presidential elections, and accused the Electoral Commission of conspiring with the regime leaders to mismanage the entire electoral process.

According to Lukwago, the 71 percent victory of the National Resistance Movement(NRM) presidential candidate Museveni was a result of thuggery, which was allegedly engineered by a combination of security agencies.

Lukwago’s call has come at a time when his party is nursing wounds caused by a big political blow, which left a large number of party candidates out of power, including the party spokesperson, Iburahim Ssemuju Nganda, party national mobiliser Francis Mwijukye amaong others.

However, regardless of the political humiliations the party is facing, Lukwago said that his leadership is not about to quit the struggle.PFF party was formed by a breakaway faction of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), following a significant internal leadership dispute within the mother party over accusations of receiving dirty money from the state house.
