Judiciary’s Summit to Revolutionize Conflict Resolution Underway in Kampala

The Judiciary is holding the first National Summit on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) at Mestil Hotel Kampala.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to be the chief of the summit, which started today, Monday, June 26th, and will continue until Tuesday, June 27th, 2023.

A message from the Chief Justice, His Lordship Alfonse Owiny Dollo, confirmed that the summit is being held under the theme “The role of ADR in transforming Uganda’s dispute resolution landscape.”

In his message, Owiny Dollo said the summit seeks to revolutionize the way conflicts are resolved and promises to be a fascinating and transformational event.

It is set to be a ground-breaking event that brings together prominent Judicial officers, legal professionals, policymakers, academics, and industry leaders from across the country.

“We are honored to have you join us at the First High-Level National Summit on Alternative Dispute Resolution 2023. Your esteemed presence symbolizes the significance of this event in shaping a progressive legal landscape,” said Chief Justice Dollo in his message.

Norbert Mao, the Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister, said the summit serves as a platform for fostering collaboration and innovation in the field of ADR.
