Four Shot Dead in Botched Stanbic Bank Robbery

A total of four suspects were shot dead by the security during a botched robbery mission at Acacia Mall, Kololo, in Kampala on Monday, January 13th, 2025.

A preliminary report revealed that the suspects were involved in a Stanbic Bank robbery mission that was thwarted by the police.

A source said the suspects were already on the police watch list and are believed to be linked to a series of robberies. An eyewitness said the fifth suspect was shot and severely injured, and he is in a critical condition.

According to Police, they successfully thwarted an attempted robbery involving UGX 500 million.

“In an intelligence-led operation police deployed it’s officers in key locations, resulting in the interception of suspects traveling on motorcycles,” said the police.

The suspects tracked their target from Acacia Mall, aiming to seize a cash bag, but were intercepted at several sites, including Total Acacia and Tagore Road.

Six of them were neutralized, and police recovered two motorcycles, two pangas, and pepper spray.
