The Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Internal Affairs is conducting its oversight work on different security agencies, including the Uganda Police, UPDF, and Uganda Prisons Service, among others, in the move to crack down on corruption following President Museveni's war against corruption in Uganda.
The case could be related to the corruption scandals that hve been transpiring in Uganda’s Parliament that led to the former Speaker, Annet Anita Among’s property search and impounding of her cars by police.
Security agencies say the operation forms part of wider efforts to dismantle urban criminal networks and restore public confidence in Mityana Municipality.
