The National Resistance Movement party presidential candidate, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Tuesday, 18th November 2025 campaigned in Kaliro and Buyende districts in a fiery trail that successfully delivered his 2026-2031 manifesto to the residents.

In both rallies, the NRM leader delivered a blend of stern directives, bold development promises, and strong warnings to feuding NRM party leaders.

The rallies characterized by mammoth, energized crowds offered a sharp political message confirm how the President is determined to secure votes while tightening discipline within the party’s grassroots structures.

In Kaliro district while addressing thousands of NRM supporters at Bulumba Ginnery, Museveni set the tone with a hard-hitting address on household wealth creation, warning local leaders against frustrating government poverty-alleviation programs.

He specifically directed authority to clean up the Parish Development Model implementation, insisting that every beneficiary must engage in income-generating enterprises.

The President highlighted major government achievements in the two districts, pointing to improved electricity access, upgrades of health facilities such as Kaliro Hospital and Buyende HCIV, and the steady expansion of primary schools under UPE.

He also applauded farmers in the region for embracing commercial agriculture, noting that programs like Emyooga and PDM were beginning to generate visible results in rice, cassava, fish, and livestock production.

In Buyende District, Museveni’s rally took on an even sharper political edge as he addressed long-standing NRM internal disputes that have split local leaders.

The President ordered senior party leadership to immediately reconcile warring factions, warning that division in Busoga could weaken the NRM’s national performance.

“You cannot say you support the NRM when you spend your time fighting each other. From today, the quarrels must stop. Our focus is wealth, service delivery, and unity,” he declared, drawing thunderous applause.

To reinforce stability and development in the region, Museveni unveiled a series of ambitious plans.

Key among them is the creation of a Busoga Agricultural Industrial Corridor, which will support rice milling, cassava processing, and fish value addition.

He also committed to upgrading the Kaliro–Kasokwe–Namwendwa road to bitumen standard, expand rural electrification to Lake Kyoga fishing communities, and inject fresh capital into youth and women cooperatives.

At the Lake Kyoga shoreline, Museveni issued new directives to security agencies to intensify operations against illegal fishing, which he said was sabotaging national revenue and impoverishing local communities.

He further instructed district land committees to document all emerging land conflicts and ensure vulnerable households are protected from illegal evictions.

With promises of industrialization, infrastructure upgrades, and tighter party discipline, the President left Kaliro and Buyende with renewed political momentum and a clear message that the 2026 race demands unity, order, and results.
