Police in Mukono have arrested two suspects believed to be criminal masterminds behind the suspected human trafficking and job scam ring in Naggalama, Mukono district.

Zephaniah Kasule and Evelyn Nantima, as reported by police, were operating under the guise of a remote networking company AIM global Alliance F, lured individuals with false promises of lucrative employment.

ASP Luke Owoyesigire the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy spokesperson, confirmed that these individuals were apprehended and at least 51 victims rescued after detectives acted on credible intelligence on April 2, 2025.

“These victims were being picked from different parts of the country and money taken from them with hope of getting jobs but later forced to sell items for this AIM global Alliance, “ASP Owoyesigire said.

Owoyesigire said that the systematic scheme would coerce its victims into surrendering their mobile phones which were in turn  used to solicit for investments from the victims’ contacts, promising high returns and monthly earnings of up to Shs1 million.

“Victims were pressured to invest up to Shs1.5 million in purchasing products for resale, a tactic characteristic of pyramid schemes,” he added.

The operation targeted multiple locations in the Kalagi area, leading to the rescue of 51 victims, comprising both men and women found in severely overcrowded conditions in the following areas.

Kakola Village, Kyabakadde Parish, Kyampisi Sub-county: 14 victims (3 males, 11 females) were found crammed into a single room.

Kalagi Village, Naggalama A Ward, Nakifuma-Naggalama Town Council: 20 victims (10 males, 10 females) were discovered sharing a small room.

Bbosa Village, Kyabakadde Parish: 14 victims (6 males, 8 females) were found in another overcrowded single-room accommodation

“We urge the public to exercise caution and report any suspicious recruitment schemes, especially those demanding upfront payments,” Owoyesigyire said.

Authorities are now focusing on providing care and rehabilitation support to the rescued victims.

The two suspects remain detained at Naggalama Police Station.
