President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Commander in Chief of all the armed forces in Uganda, has confirmed that the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces killed over 60 Allied Democratic Force (ADF) terrorists during an airstrike in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

In his December 13, 2023 message, President Museveni confirmed that UPDF soldiers have killed several ADF terrorists since September 2023 to date.

He said that out of those killed, the particulars of some 57 rebels have been established through human intelligence sources.

“We have been carrying out air attacks on the terrorists in Congo. We normally identify those targets with both technical and human intelligence. Using those means, you can know that many terrorists were killed. However, you will not know who until human sources bring in their reports,” the president said.

Below are the names of the people who died in the attack on September 16, 2023.

Kabuye Bashir (Overall Commander), Mutagubya Ismail (Second in Command),  Julius Kaze Huziaru, Nusifa Maga, Fisal Seguya, Yusufu Abdullah, Kwenzi Mando, Mbonera Akuli, Nampera Kasifa, Kuza Mzee, Kintu Kalinda Aboora, Ssenteza Muzamiru, Mutasa Adam, Bashir Karanda, Kasenge Nulu, Capt Madebeya, Rwanziiza Everisto, and Kalenzi, Rwante Nyinemungu.

Additionally, Kule Ashra, Kiryerya Mutabliki, Kambale Davito, Kahindo Shatic, Mumbere Shantiri, Mundoki Shakira, Kambare Ahmed, Yerya Muzafuru, Warid Najib, Muslim Aimslim, Alid Katembo, Sula Mkeba, Milekanio, Kasereka Hamidu, Ngobi Hassan, Kenja Mustapher, Bonde Mwana Mwana, Baluku Mustapher, Kisembo Kuraisi, Baruku Buruhani, Kaseru Muntusoro, Mwana Mworo Sharifu, Mumbere Yasin, Ngasa Falooq, Mbotera Musa, Kiiza Ibrahim, Bavensikura, Okello Okello, Atim Mustapher, Njagaliiza Kasiimu, Kalibala Babo Mudde, Kezaala Ashirafu, Najja Swaibu, Gumire Harunah, Kibedi, Munyoori Abubaker, and Alhajji Mujib were killed during the airstrike.

“We do not know whether these are their real names. Those are, however, the names they are known by in their terrorist circles,” Museveni added.

The joint Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) operation Shujaa against the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) terrorists in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has intensified, leading to successive achievements for the joint forces.
