FUFA Names Sheba Ronah Ampaire as Deputy CEO

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has announced a major restructuring of its Secretariat, appointing Sheba Ronah Ampaire as Deputy Chief Executive Officer to strengthen governance and improve football administration across the country.

The announcement was made on March 26th 2026 by FUFA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson Suubi, following the approval of a new Secretariat organogram by the 35th FUFA Executive Committee.

Suubi explained that the move aims to enhance organizational effectiveness, reinforce internal systems, and support the efficient execution of FUFA’s strategic and operational mandate.

Ampaire, whose appointment takes effect on April 1st, 2026, previously served as FUFA Legal Officer and is credited with enhancing judicial processes and ensuring compliance with football regulations.

According to the federation, Ampaire’s appointment highlights FUFA’s dedication to upholding professional governance and delivering efficient, transparent services across every area of Ugandan football.

They added that her leadership will strengthen operational integrity and ensure that all administrative and development initiatives are executed effectively.

“With her in leadership, we are confident that operations will be more accountable, and every administrative and development initiative will be delivered effectively,’’ FUFA stated.

Since joining FUFA in 2021, Ampaire has contributed to improving integrity, accountability, and consistency within the federation.

She will support the CEO in overseeing key administrative and operational functions, including member relations and organizational development.

Ampaire holds a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, along with specialized football administration certifications, including the FIFA Professional Club Management Certification and the FAMACO 3 programme.

The Secretariat restructure also saw the appointment of key officials to lead critical divisions, including Samuel Bakiika Mubiru as Head of Finance and Corporate Governance, Humphrey Watenga Mandu as Head of Services, Research Planning and Projects, Mubiru Shawn as Competitions Director, Ahmed Hussein as Director of Corporate Affairs, Ian Kiryowa as Commercial Director, Hajati Aisha Nalule as Member Relations Director, Denis Lukambi as Legal Director, Bashir Mutyaba as Football Development Director, and Julian Bbosa Namuganga as Finance Director.

These leaders will provide management and operational oversight within their respective portfolios, ensuring FUFA’s strategic priorities are effectively implemented.

“The new structure reflects FUFA’s continued commitment to professionalism, accountability, and operational efficiency while promoting sustainable football development across Uganda,” the federation emphasized.

FUFA has urged all stakeholders to support the new leadership team to ensure the successful implementation of its mandate under the restructured Secretariat.

With the new leadership in place, FUFA aims to strengthen accountability, transparency, and professional management across all levels of the federation. The appointments mark a significant step toward building a stronger and efficient football ecosystem in Uganda.
