The Uganda Police Force embarked on a one week Training of Trainers (ToT) program at Kikandwa Police Training School, aimed at equipping 61 Regional Training Officers and specialized unit trainers with advanced instructional skills.
The training, officially opened by AIGP Moses Kafeero, Director of Human Resource and Development started on 24th September , 2025 and will run upto 26th September , 2025. It is part of ongoing efforts to enhance professionalism, discipline, and effectiveness within the Force.
While addressing participants Kafeero urged them to embrace innovation and creativity in the delivery of training programs. He reminded the officers of their key responsibility in shaping a competent, disciplined, and service-oriented police force.
“Continuous training is critical in enhancing police professionalism and effectiveness. I urge you to embrace innovation and creativity in the delivery of training programs,” Kafeero said.
Upon completion the trainers will play a central role in molding the character and capacity of other officers actively pursuing career development and lifelong learning to enhance performance across the Force.
The course is focusing on modern teaching methodologies, innovative approaches to law enforcement training, leadership skills, and practical exercises tailored to contemporary policing challenges. The Police leadership aims to strengthen uniformity and consistency in training across the country by building the instructional capacity of trainers.
Kikandwa Police Training School has become a key hub for specialized and refresher courses, and this program further underlines its strategic role in professionalizing the Force. Once completion the 61 participants are expected to cascade the knowledge to their respective regions and units, ultimately improving service delivery and strengthening community trust in the Police.
