The Kampala Metropolitan South Regional police in Nateete have arrested a popular musician, Alien Skin (real name Patrick Mulwana), following allegations of assaulting medical staff and two security guards at St. Francis Nsambya Hospital on November 19, 2024, at around 8:00 p.m.
The arrest by Uganda police occurred on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
The altercation followed the death of a 28-year-old Joram Tumwesigye, a resident of Makindye division in Kampala district and a member of the Fangone Forest Group. Tumwesigye had been rushed to the hospital after sustaining injuries in a truck accident.
According to reports and circulating videos on social media, Alien Skin’s supporters are accused of violently confronting hospital staff, blaming them for negligence in Tumwesigye’s death. The altercation between the group and medical personnel escalated into physical blows, drawing the attention of law enforcement.
The Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, said that a witness identified the suspect as Alien Skin, who allegedly demanded medical forms from the attending doctor.
He added that when the doctor refused to meet his request, Alien Skin and his group allegedly assaulted the doctor and two security guards before fleeing the scene.

Owoyesigyire said that the police launched a manhunt for Alien Skin on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, which led to his arrest around 4:00 p.m.
The police spokesperson, ACP Kituuma Rusoke, confirmed the arrest on the police’s official X handle.
“We have in our custody musician Patrick Mulwana, alias Alien Skin, whom we have apprehended on allegations of assaulting medical staff at Nsambya Hospital,” he tweeted.
Investigations are ongoing to ascertain further details surrounding the incident.
According to Nsambya Hospital, unidentified individuals stormed the facility and assaulted their staff as they demanded information about the deceased. The hospital management, however, condemned what they called the act of violence on their staff.
