More than four people have been critically injured in a three-car collision in Makindye Ssabagabo municipality, Wakiso district.
This accident happened on November 19, 2024, in Gangu, and it involved three vehicles, including two taxis and a cargo truck.
Initial reports indicate that the driver of the taxi with registration number UBE 320G was driving on a slope in Gangu; however, he lost control and hit the back of the carrier truck, and it also hit another taxi with registration number UAU 780P.
According to Peter Muyingo, an eyewitness, the taxi that caused the accident was coming from Gangu Muslim; however, the taxi brakes might have failed, hence causing him to knock the canter truck, which also hit the other taxi.
Muyingo added that the passengers who were injured were in the taxi that caused the accident; however, the other vehicles had no people with injuries.
’’We had to cut the taxi to get out the injured in order to save their lives because the taxi was severely damaged,” he noted.

Muyingo added that more than four people were severely injured; however, they were rushed to nearby hospitals for first aid and treatment.
He also said that the driver of the canter truck ran away after the accident but left the vehicle behind.
Wakiso district has witnessed several tragic road accidents that have resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries.
On October 22, 2024, a devastating accident involving a fuel tanker occurred in Kigogwa Town along the Kampala-Bombo Road. The tanker overturned and exploded, leading to the deaths of more than 20 people. Initial reports indicated that 11 individuals died at the scene, while others succumbed to their injuries later in different hospitals. The explosion caused significant destruction, including damage to nearby buildings and vehicles.
This accident highlighted the dangers associated with high-speed driving and the need for tanker drivers to adhere to traffic regulations and drive responsibly, especially when transporting such flammable liquids as fuel or gasoline.
