Uganda’s legendary comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi, real name Allan Mujuni, is set to celebrate 25 years in the comedy industry in a show dubbed 25 Years of Amooti on December 13, 2024, at the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) showgrounds in Lugogo, Kampala city.
Through his Instagram, Amooti revealed that he, together with his group, the New Amarula Family, have been rehearsing for three months in preparation for the comedy show that will leave the revelers tearing in laughter.
“Come with a towel because you will laugh hard throughout the show,” Amooti wrote.

Songbird Iryn Namubiru took to her social media handle X and said that she cannot wait to see Amooti on stage.
“I cannot wait to see you on that stage, my day one boogie woogie,” Namubiru wrote on X.
Lovers of comedy will part with UGX 50,000 for ordinary, UGX 100,000 for VIP, UGX 3m table, and UGX 5m for the platinum table to laugh their lungs out.
Amooti is regarded by many as the father of Ugandan comedy, having done comedy for his whole life from the time when comedy was not popular or well-paying in the country. He began his comedy career in 1999 until now.
