“Co-engineered with Ferrari, Shell V-Power brings cutting-edge racing technology to Uganda’s roads, delivering world-class performance to everyday driving,” Mukasa stated.
She reaffirmed the company’s unwavering commitment to empowering Ugandan rally drivers and fueling the passion of motorsport enthusiasts across the country.
“Motorsport is not just entertainment; it is a platform for engineering innovation, youth empowerment, and national pride,” Mukasa added. ’’Through our sponsorship, we are helping to inspire the next generation of drivers, engineers, and fans.
Her sentiments were echoed by Hon Jimmy Akena, President of the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda, who praised the longstanding partnership.
“Vivo Energy Uganda’s support has been instrumental in the growth and success of motorsport in the country,” Akena noted. “Their sponsorship has not only elevated the profile of the rally but also provided essential funding that drives both the event and the sport forward.”
This year’s rally promises to be more competitive and exciting than ever. Organizers have allowed a maximum of 45 entries, attracting not only Uganda’s top rally drivers but also elite teams from Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania. The action kicks off on Friday with three challenging stages designed to test both speed and skill.
Hosting the event in Mbarara City, a bustling hub in western Uganda, is also expected to deliver significant economic benefits. Hotels are already reporting near-full bookings, and local businesses, from transport services to roadside vendors, are gearing up for a surge in activity as motorsport fans flood the city.
With adrenaline, innovation, and national pride at its core, the 2025 Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally is shaping up to be a landmark event on the East African motorsport calendar.
