Uganda Airlines has announced a new interline agreement with Airlink, Southern Africa’s leading private airline, significantly enhancing travel connectivity between Uganda and the Southern African region.

According to Uganda Airlines’ statement on Monday, November 24th, 2025, this strategic partnership allows passengers to book a single ticket for seamless travel from Entebbe International Airport (EBB) to over 45 destinations across South Africa and Southern Africa through Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB).

“Passengers benefit from a streamlined travel experience with through-check-in for both themselves and their luggage, eliminating the need for multiple bookings and check-ins in Johannesburg,” the statement read.

The agreement also facilitates reciprocal travel options for Airlink passengers to connect effortlessly to Uganda Airlines’ growing African network, fostering increased trade and tourism links across the continent.

Adedayo Olawuyi, Uganda Airlines’ Chief Communication Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, quoting it as a significant step toward making intra-African travel easier and providing unparalleled convenience and choice for travelers.

“We are excited to partner with Airlink, a respected airline known for its extensive regional network. The interline agreement is a significant step in our aspiration of making intra-African travel easier,” Olawuyi noted.

Catherine Whelan, Airlink’s Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the partnership’s role in opening a vital gateway in East Africa and providing Ugandan travelers with efficient access to Southern Africa’s key economic and tourism centers, describing it as a win-win for both airlines and their customers.
