Under Uganda's Penal Code, Section 27, misprision of treason refers to the offence of knowingly concealing information about planned or intended treason without reporting it to the appropriate authorities. The offence carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment upon conviction.

“We don’t know where exactly Lukwago is because his legal firm, led by Medad Ssegonna, tried to go to the Natete police station to report the case, but it refused.
