“He delivered a personal memoir that begins in 1959, when he visited a stock farm as a Primary Seven pupil, compared milk production figures from 1986, recounted bus fares from 1967 from Rushere to Katongore, and described sleeping next to sheaves of millet in Naama. This is an autobiography,” Centenary said.
Under the new system, successfully registered foreign nationals will be issued Alien Identification Numbers (AINs) and Alien Identification Cards, which will serve as official identification documents for foreign residents in Uganda. The validity period of each card will correspond with the duration of the holder’s immigration permit or authorized stay.
According to the International Diabetes Foundation, in 2021, an estimated 716,000 adults in Uganda had diabetes. About 89% of Ugandans with diabetes are neither on medication nor aware of their status and therefore present to the health system with difficult-to-treat complications.
