ree plantingThe Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has donated Maama kits and tree seedlings to units of the Special Forces Command (SFC) as part of activities marking the 52nd birthday of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
The press release of May 8th, 2026, indicated that the donations, delivered during visits to selected SFC establishments, combined community support with environmental conservation efforts.
At Nsamizi Military Hospital, PLU members handed over Maama kits intended to support expectant mothers and newborn babies, while more than 52 tree seedlings were planted at the 20 GBAD Brigade in Kigungu to promote environmental sustainability.

Leading the delegation, the PLU USA Chapter chairman, Ronnie Kananura said the initiative was aimed at giving back to communities in celebration of Gen. Muhoozi’s birthday.
He said supporting vulnerable groups and protecting the environment were critical for future generations, and called on Ugandans to embrace charity and conservation initiatives.
Kananura also praised the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), particularly the SFC, for its continued involvement in community-focused activities.
The PLU Coordinator for External Affairs, Steven Rutasharara said the outreach was intended to spread hope through charity work while responding to the needs of ordinary Ugandans.

The delegation included several PLU members, among them Daphine Rwakiiki, the PLU General Secretary for Lyantonde District.
While receiving the donations, the SFC Director of Human Resource Management, Col Mango Baraza, commended Gen. Muhoozi for championing initiatives aimed at improving community welfare and livelihoods.
The event was attended by the Commander of the 3 Special Forces Group, Col Francis Mwebaze; his deputy, Col Frank Kato; Commander of 20 GBAD Brigade, Maj Robert Rutabingwa; Acting Director of Health Services, Capt Dr. Isaac Tukesiga; as well as other senior and junior SFC officers.
