President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has set Greater Mubende sub region ablaze with a thunderous call to war against poverty.
Despite the region being painted in National Unity Platform (NUP) red previously, it was the yellow wave of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) that swept through as Museveni arrived to a hero’s welcome in all the eight different engagements conducted during the Presidential Zonal Wealth Creation Tour.

His latest appearance in the region known for boldly ignoring NRM during 2021 election has written a new political script for many.
Drums roared, NRM chants echoed through the hills as locals danced, cheered, and defied their opposition MPs — proving once again that when Museveni comes to town, politics takes a backseat to patriotism paving ways for wealth creation messages.

Dubbed the “General of Wealth” by enthusiastic supporters, Museveni wasted no time but massively rallied locals in the all the five districts from the region to embrace his message themed “Poverty must fall”.
Addressing a charged rally in Kiboga on Thursday 17th,2025 Museveni pulled heavy punches against poverty and bad opposition leaders.

“Our people must stop chasing illusions! Wealth creation is the real revolution,” he thundered.
“I didn’t leave Scripture Union because I opposed religion, but because I couldn’t tolerate poverty and oppression while Ugandans suffer. You cannot love God and ignore His suffering people. I am glad that our religious leaders now speak about wealth creation,” President Museveni said.

In Mubende, the President flexed development muscles, commissioning a multimillion-shilling modern market built under the USMID program.

In a jaw-dropping directive, Museveni ordered the rich to vacate saying the market stalls are meant for the poor.
“These markets are not your playgrounds. They belong to the struggling vendors. Leave now,” Museveni warned.
While opposition MPs were nowhere to be seen, possibly hiding from the electrifying political energy fired in their holds during the tour, Museveni’s message was loud and clear: “Vote NRM for progress, or stay behind in the dust of missed opportunity,”

The four day tour ended with glaring efforts to end poverty and replace it with wealth in every household.
