Moses Magogo has been re-elected as President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), extending his leadership into a third consecutive term.

The re-election was confirmed during the 99th FUFA Ordinary General Assembly held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the FUFA Complex in Mengo.

Magogo, who first assumed office in 2013, continues to enjoy broad support from Uganda’s football fraternity.

His unchallenged return reflects a consensus among the sport’s stakeholders on the direction of the federation under his stewardship.

In his acceptance speech, Magogo expressed gratitude to the 88 delegates for their confidence and outlined an ambitious agenda for the new term, with a strong emphasis on revenue generation and professionalization of Ugandan football.

“We must professionalize our structures and tap into football’s commercial potential,” Magogo said.

During his tenure, Magogo has spearheaded reforms in club licensing, youth football, and infrastructure development, including projects like Kadiba Stadium.

However, he has also faced criticism over funding gaps, governance challenges in domestic leagues, and inconsistent national team performances.

Addressing these concerns, Magogo pledged to strengthen transparency, expand grassroots development, and enhance partnerships with both public and private stakeholders.

“We shall continue pushing for policy reforms and better collaboration with government and private stakeholders. Our mission remains to develop, promote, and protect the game of football at all levels,” he stated.

In addition to his FUFA leadership, Magogo serves as the Member of Parliament for Budiope East and sits on the CAF Executive Committee.

His new term will run until 2029 and is expected to be a defining period for Ugandan football as the country prepares to step onto the continental standards.
