President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, has arrived in Uganda for an official visit aimed at deepening diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two African nations.

President El-Sisi touched down at Entebbe International Airport on Wednesday and was officially received by Ruhakana Rugunda, the Special Envoy for Special Duties in the Office of the President.

The development was confirmed through a statement shared by State House Uganda on X  which described the visit as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between Uganda and Egypt.

Officials say discussions during the visit are expected to center on regional peace and security, trade cooperation, water resource management, agriculture, infrastructure, and investment opportunities.

The President’s arrival comes at a time when several Heads of State and foreign dignitaries are departing the country following yesterday’s swearing-in ceremony of H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni held at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in Kampala.
