President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has camped in Tooro sub region on a four-day tour to assess the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM) and other wealth creation initiatives. The tour starts Thursday, 15th May, 2025.

The President, who spent the previous weekend traversing the Rwenzori sub-region rallying support for Uganda’s ongoing war against poverty, is expected to visit several model farmers and interact with local leaders and communities during his tour.

Government Chief Whip and member of the National Organizing Committee for the Presidential Zonal Tour on Wealth Creation, Denis Hamson Obua, described the tour as timely and hands-on.

Obua emphasized its importance in monitoring grassroots development.

President Museveni will begin his tour in Kamwenge District, where he will visit Mr. Akorinako Julius, a model farmer from Lwamugonera Cell, Rwenkuba Ward, Kahunge Town Council.

Mr. Julius is engaged in coffee and banana farming, as well as goat rearing.

In the afternoon, the President will head to Bunyangabu District to visit Mr. Katuramu Deo, a PDM farmer from Kyakahinda Cell, Southwest Ward, Kibiito Town Council.

Mr. Deo practices mixed farming, keeping pigs and a cow, and maintains a one-acre banana plantation.

The day will conclude in Kabarole District with a visit to Mukundane Roset’s farm located in Kasojo Cell, Kyanyawara Ward, Kiko Town Council.

Mukundane , a dedicated PDM farmer, is focused on goat rearing and currently manages a herd of 15 goats.

During his stay in the region, President Museveni will also hold meetings with local leaders to provide guidance on wealth creation strategies, commission completed infrastructure projects, and engage with media personnel on pressing regional issues.
