The Uganda Lady Cranes have triumphed over both Thailand and Mexico, scoring 15:05 and 48:07, respectively, in the ongoing World Rugby HSBC 7s Challenger in Montevideo, Uruguay.
The opening match against Thailand was played around 5:30 p.m., and the second match against Mexico was played around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2024.
In the match against Thailand, the three tries were from Grace Auma, captain Peace Lekuru, and Maimuna N, giving Uganda an edge over Thailand, which managed to post a single try.
The Lady Cranes are pooled against Thailand, Mexico, and Argentina in Pool C of the second series of the champion.
The team will be playing against Argentina on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 5.37 p.m.
The Lady Cranes are off to a strong start in this competition.
In the first round of the championship, which took place in Dubai in January 2024, Lady Cranes finished fourth with 15 points, and China topped the women’s chart with 22 points.
The Dubai tournament was one of the three series to be played before the top four teams qualify for the final tournament in Madrid.
