The National Unity Platform (NUP) Party president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, campaigned in the Sebei districts of Kapchorwa and Kween on January 5th, 2025, even after a police blockade at the Uganda-Kenya border town of Suam in Bukwo district.
Kyagulanyi, who had been blocked several times from proceeding from Kapchorwa to the next town, accused the security forces of intentionally blocking him on his trail, prompting late arrival at the rally grounds.
“While we were trying to utilize our campaign schedule as intended, the regime police used all their might to disrupt our campaign in Kween District with teargas and thereafter blocked us from proceeding to Bukwo District. They are afraid of our message reaching to the grassroots. We are just armed with nothing but the revolutionary truth and regime change gospel,” Kyagulanyi said.
While in Kapchorwa, Kyagulanyi promised to promote the vast talent of the people of Sebei sub-region who are athletes and also promised to promote the tourism associated with the beautiful landscape with Sipi falls.
“This place would have been better if you had better leadership, your place is gifted in nature and people who come from this place are talented. So much talent comes from here but not rewarded the way it should be rewarded. You don’t have better services as you deserve, change is possible and on 15th of January come and vote in big numbers,” Kyagulanyi added.
Kyagulanyi will today 6th January ,2026 proceed to Karamoja sub-region and campaign in the districts of Amudat, Tororo and Napak before returning to Kampala.
