PDM, EMYOOGA Beneficiaries Get Huge Boost as Museveni Tours Greater Wakiso

President Museveni donated a high-grade dairy cow valued at Shs12 million, pledged government support to improve the electricity supply for mechanization of her production, and gave Shs1 million to each of the 10 PDM beneficiaries present. He also offered Shs6 million to the area LC I chairperson to procure a motorcycle for effective monitoring of government programs.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has extended substantial financial support to beneficiaries of the Parish Development Model (PDM) and EMYOOGA programs during his ongoing tour of the Greater Wakiso region.

On Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, the President began the day’s engagements in Nakasozi Village, Zziba Parish, Kasanje Town Council, where he visited Mabamba Farm House and Training Demonstration Centre, owned by Jacklet Atuhaire Rwabukurukuru.

Rwabukurukuru, who began her enterprise in 2019 with poultry, now boasts 16 dairy cows, over 2,000 birds, a fishpond, coffee plantations, and employs 25 workers.

In Entebbe Municipality, the President visited the salon business of Priscilia Mwirumubi, a beneficiary of the EMYOOGA initiative under the Entebbe Division A Saloon Operators SACCO, which she also chairs.

The SACCO, formed in 2019, has 113 members. Mwirumubi informed the President that the EMYOOGA funds helped her and fellow members escape the trap of predatory money lenders. She now saves up to Shs10 million annually and employs five people. The area LCI was given Shs6million for a motorbike while EMYOOGA beneficiary was given Shs20million to boost their business.

Later in Busabala Parish, Kaazi Village, Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality, the President inspected a model farm of poultry and goats rearing project run by PDM beneficiary Lillian Nagawa and pledged to construct a modern storied poultry house for her, donated Shs10 million for stocking, and procured a Shs12 million tricycle to assist with feed transportation. Additionally, he offered Shs12 million to two LC I chairpersons in the area and Shs1 million to each of the PDM beneficiaries who attended.

President Museveni emphasized the need for elected leaders, particularly Members of Parliament, to engage in productive economic activities that can create jobs for the population. He reiterated the importance of the PDM and EMYOOGA initiatives in lifting communities out of poverty and warned beneficiaries to guard their funds against misappropriation.

President Museveni is currently touring the region to drum up supper on wealth creation among locals people.
