
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday injected over Shs500 million into wealth creation efforts across the Tooro sub-region, as part of his four-day Presidential Zonal Tour assessing the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM).
While launching the tour in Kamwenge District, President Museveni visited Akorinako Julius, a model farmer in Lwamugonera Cell, Rwenkuba Ward, Kahunge Town Council, Kibale County.

Museveni extended a substantial financial boost of Shs26 million to Akorinako, who is engaged in coffee farming, banana cultivation, and goat rearing.
Additionally, the President gave Shs1 million each to 10 PDM beneficiaries who welcomed him at the farm, and Shs10 million to the area LCI Chairperson to facilitate the purchase of a tricycle motorbike.
In Bunyangabu District, Museveni inspected the farm of Katuramu Deo, a PDM beneficiary in Kyakahinda Cell, Southwest Ward, Kibiito Town Council.

Katuramu, who rears pigs and a cow and has one acre of bananas, received Shs12 million for irrigation equipment. The President also pledged to provide him with a Fuso truck to support transportation of his produce.
A total of 10 additional PDM farmers received Shs1 million each, while the area LCI Chairperson was gifted Shs6 million to acquire a motorcycle.
The President’s day concluded in Kabarole District at the farm of Mukundane Roset, a farmer in Kasojo Cell, Kyanyawara Ward, Kiko Town Council, who practices goat rearing, banana farming, and dairy activities.

Museveni supported her with Shs14 million to facilitate the construction of a water tank and improve farm transport.
Here, a total of10 PDM beneficiaries each received Shs1 million, the area LCI was given Shs6 million, and a local church received a donation of Shs30 million.

President Museveni urged Ugandans to embrace hard work and productivity, stating that the Parish Development Model will lay the foundation for a stable and prosperous economy.
He also directed the Ministry of Water and Environment to prioritize the development of village-based water supply systems to support zero-grazing and animal farming in the region.
