Museveni’s Tour of Bunyoro to Boost Wealth Creation, PDM Implementation—PM Nabbanja

PM said President Museveni’s visit also aims at empowering local people to embrace wealth creation and address challenges that are affecting the implementation of government programs.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will camp in the Bunyoro sub region to assess the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM) and also wealth creation activities.

On Monday, the members of the National Organizing Committee for the Presidential Zonal Tour of PDM and wealth creation addressed selected group of district leaders from the region at Hoima district headquarters and Kagadi district.

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja said the tour is strictly focused on mobilizing residents to join the money economy.

PM said President Museveni’s visit also aims at empowering local people to embrace wealth creation and address challenges that are affecting the implementation of government programs.

Denis Hamson Obua, the Government Chief Whip, who is a member of NOC said the President’s tour aims to solidify government contributions to empower Ugandans to create wealth.

He said on Tuesday, 18th March, Museveni will visit the farm of Tumusiime Titus, a PDM model farmer in Sonsio Village, Nyamukutu Parish, Butiaba Sub-County in Buliisa district.

Tumusiime got Shs.997,000 PDM money, bought 06 pigs, they produced, and after that sold some pigs, but currently he has 15 pigs.

The President will also visit the farm of Mpagazihe Jackson, another PDM model farmer in Kimbugu village, Kimbugu parish, Kabwoya Sub – County in Buhaguzi county, Kikuube District.

Mpagazihe, who owns three acres of land, received Shs. 980,000 from PDM and used it to establish a fish pond, and now he has 04 fish ponds.

Museveni will later in the day tour the third farmer, Irumba David, a resident of Bulera cell, Bulera ward, Hoima East Division, in Hoima City.

Irumba is an established model farmer with 45,000 layers, 3 acres of coffee, and 50 goats.

While in Bunyoro, President Museveni is expected to commission several government projects, including the Presidential Skilling Hub, and also preside over the groundbreaking ceremony for Bunyoro Public University in Buhimba, visit Hoima Olympic Stadium in Hoima City, and meet leaders from the Bunyoro Sub-region.

The President will also meet Her Majesty Omugo Margaret Karunga Adyeri of Bunyoro Kingdom and cultural leaders from Bunyoro Region and later address a public rally at Muhororo BCSS Primary School Playground in Nyamanga Cell, Butumba Ward, Muhororo Town Council, and Buyaga West Constituency in Kagadi District.
