President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has pitched camp in the Ankole sub region to assess the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM) and other wealth creation programs in the area.
While in the region, the president will tour selected model farmers supported by the government to engage in agriculture through PDM and commission selected infrastructures built by the government.
During the first day of his tour, the President will, on Tuesday, 25th February 2025, visit Tumusiime Deziranta, a PDM beneficiary and a resident of Kizurugo cell, Lugazi parish, Magambo Sub-County, Bunyaruguru county in Rubirizi district.
Deziranta received PDM money and ventured into both piggery and goat rearing about a year ago.
Museveni will also visit Abenawe Honest, an established model farmer from Kalyango village, Kagongi parish, Kyangyenyi Sub County, Sheema County north in Sheema district.
She is into dairy farming, coffee, bananas, and apiary projects, a practice that has economically empowered her.
The President will later visit Ahimbisibwe. Harriet is a PDM beneficiary and a resident of Kyarukobwa village, Kyaruhanga ward, Kagongo division, and Ibanda Municipality who ventured into a piggery project.
On the second day, the President is expected to commission the Presidential Skilling Hub located in Muko village, Muko parish, Rubaya Sub County, Kashari South, according to State House Controller Jane Barekye.
In the afternoon, Museveni will preside over the Ankole leaders meeting to be held at Bushenyi BOMA grounds, Central cell, Central ward, Central division, and Ishaka-Bushenyi municipality.
The President will also, on Thursday, 27th February 2025, interact with local journalists from the Ankole Sub Region at the State Lodge, Bushenyi, commission Benni Foods Ltd. (milk processors on Kaguta Road), and later address a public rally at Mwizi Primary School in Malembo 1 cell, Mwizi ward, Mwizi-Kabula T/Council, Rwampara County.
