President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is set to spend his first week of December in Karamoja sub region mobilizing local residents to embrace wealth creation programs.
His tour of the region starts on December 3rd, 2024, with a visit to model farms in Nakapiripirit district, which is part of a massive initiative to assess the implementation of the Parish Development Model program in the area.
According to the Presidential Press Unit, Museveni, while in Karamoja region, will also engage with the local leaders on the second day of his tour to discuss wealth creation strategies with the hope of causing a massive mindset shift among the locals.
The president’s tour aims at ushering more Ugandans into the money economy by engaging them in commercial farming.
He is also expected to address a public rally to inform Karamoja residents on the best farming practices.
In the recent weeks, President Museveni conducted a similar tour in the Bukedi and Teso sub regions.
The President is expected to proceed to the Sebei subregion from December 9th before heading to Busoga and later Lango sub regions.
In this tour, President Museveni has prioritized government commitment to eradicating poverty among Ugandans.
