The Budadiri West Member of Parliament, Nandala Mafabi, has called for the arrest of all members of the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee for their erroneously approving the Shs1.7 billion service award given to four Parliamentary Commissioners.

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, after signing a censure motion, MP Nandala faulted the decision and accused the Commissioners of filling Parliament with their relatives occupying staff positions.

“These individuals have violated the public trust, and they must face the consequences of their actions,” said Nandala.

Mafabi, who has been in Parliament for the past 23 years, revealed that no commissioner has ever been paid a service award during his tenure.

“The members of the Legal Committee should be arrested, just like their counterparts on the Budget Committee who are currently in police custody for their alleged involvement in a corruption racket within Parliament,” he said.
