The Ntgungamo Dairy Farmers Cooperative Union Quality Controller has been remanded after he was charged with theft of UGX 474 million.

Identified as Myers Muhimbura, he appeared before Ntgungamo District Chief Magistrate Court on Friday, May 31, 2024, following his arrest by the detectives from the State House Anti-Corruption Unit.

Mariam Natasha, the State House Anti-Corruption Unit Spokesperson, said that the accused would record lesser quantities of milk supplied to the cooperative by member farmers, and after selling the milk delivered, he would steal the difference in money realized.

Muhimbura, who pleaded not guilty to the offense, will reappear in court on June 13, 2024.

Natasha said that four other suspects, who have also been charged with negligence, have yet to appear in court.

She identified the suspects as Laban Mugizi Rukangayo (Accountant), Dan Abesigye Kakiza (Secretary/Manager), Caleb Turyahikayo (Treasurer), and Jennifer Kyampaire (Cashier), all staff of NDAFUCO.
