After a long day of prayers and rehearsals, pilgrims and neighbors of the Shrines pay a call on the marvelous night life of Namugongo, days before the Martyrs day. A lot of music, drama, games and business are the most common activities carried out in the night.

“We always come here in the evening to have some fun and also to buy some clothes, and other items. It’s always interesting here at night,” said Irene Namukasa, a pilgrim from Ssembabule District.

Although this place feels like paradise in the night, there is always a little trouble in the paradise as police makes several arrests.

A group of youth were arrested for different reasons which include, pick pocketing, petty theft and being got in possession of unwanted drugs like marijuana and the famous “kikola”.

“We have several arrests of a few undisciplined fellows. In our custody we have 27 youth who are in one gang, these are the ones pick pocketing the pilgrims and other tourists. There are those we found in possession of marijuana,” said, SSP Rwankatabuza.
