The Church of Uganda Archbishop wrapped up his farewell visit to Kinkiizi Diocese by celebrating the diocese's growth and urging Christians to remain united, faithful and committed to transforming their communities.
"Reaching 50 years is not just a celebration of our longevity as an association; it is recognition of the increasing value of strategic communication in building institutional credibility, strengthening stakeholder trust, and supporting national development," Nakasiita said.
CHWs commitment as the first contact of the community with the health system is particularly beneficial in rural areas that have limited access to health care and cannot go unnoticed.
M-pox, which spreads from animals to humans through close contact with infected individuals, has raised concerns due to its recent resurgence in neighboring countries. As of September 2, 2024, Uganda had reported a total of 10 confirmed cases from five districts.
