The Mbale Wildlife Conservation Education Centre is expected to serve as a regional hub for conservation knowledge and environmental stewardship in Eastern Uganda. Through educational programs, outreach activities, and awareness campaigns, the facility will help nurture a culture of sustainable environmental management and responsible conservation practices.
“Now, every time the Budget is read, we hear just increments of taxes on most consumable products such as alcohol, and sugar, among others. How would you expect me to listen to something that bothers me more? The President should instead downsize the district security structures where people are fond of playing the same roles,” Kayiira said.
The Ntoroko residents from areas prone to floods had in the past requested the government of Uganda to relocate them to a small part of the neighboring Semuliki wildlife reserve; however, the discussion has not yet been fully concluded.
The Office of the Prime Minister, through the Department of Relief and Disaster Preparedness, has flagged off the relocation of 242 households from Bududa District to Bunambutye Resettlement Site in Bulambuli District.
