For a person using a wheelchair, that could mean being able to enter a government office without assistance. For a child with a disability, it could mean reaching school, accessing learning materials and receiving the support needed to stay in class. For a job seeker, it could mean an accessible workplace and a fair opportunity to compete.
Uganda has identified more than 58 categories of minerals, including gold, rare earth elements, iron ore, phosphates, graphite, cobalt, copper, lithium, coltan, limestone and marble.
The President noted that the bigger challenge is ensuring evidence gathered from the field leads to prosecutions, calling for faster action from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The Eastern Uganda tour will begin in the Bukedi sub-region, where the president will evaluate the progress and impact of the PDM initiatives aimed at economic empowerment and grassroots development together with the local leaders, members of the public, selected model farmers, and the technical staff.
