The Mbale Wildlife Conservation Education Centre is expected to serve as a regional hub for conservation knowledge and environmental stewardship in Eastern Uganda. Through educational programs, outreach activities, and awareness campaigns, the facility will help nurture a culture of sustainable environmental management and responsible conservation practices.
“Now, every time the Budget is read, we hear just increments of taxes on most consumable products such as alcohol, and sugar, among others. How would you expect me to listen to something that bothers me more? The President should instead downsize the district security structures where people are fond of playing the same roles,” Kayiira said.
Operating under the Bamboo Uganda umbrella, organization members such as Amabanda, Bjimu, Studio Akeka, and Ekibbo produce a diversity of products to meet both local and international demand, including bamboo poles and strips that serve as the foundation for various applications in construction, crafts, and fencing solutions; laminated timbers; roofs; and biochar, among others.
