The latest charges were filed shortly after Kivumbi secured bail in a separate terrorism case before the International Crimes Division of the High Court.
For Nabakooba, protecting public land is not simply a government responsibility but a matter of protecting assets held on behalf of Ugandans. She called for greater public awareness to discourage people from viewing government land as an opportunity for personal gain.
During the session, the prosecution asked court for more time to conclude inquiries before the case could proceed to the next stage. The court granted the request and set July 27th as the date for further mention.
The case could be related to the corruption scandals that hve been transpiring in Uganda’s Parliament that led to the former Speaker, Annet Anita Among’s property search and impounding of her cars by police.
