According to the prosecution and bail conditions, the trio were barred from flying out of the country before the case is closed, cautioned against interfering with the ongoing investigations and witnesses, among others. The court, therefore, warned that any violation of the said conditions could result in revoking their bail. 

This is the second time fire gutting down houses in this same place with the first one occurring in 2021 leaving three people dead and destroying people's properties.

This is not the first time such an incident is happening in Uganda; in July 2013, over 35 people died and many survived with injuries as they tried to get fuel from a fuel tanker involved in an accident. Many, mainly boda boda raiders,were caught up in the fire and lost their lives.

According to a letter written to KCCA dated October 11, 2024, the Minister of State for Relief, Disaster Preparedness, and Refugees, Lillian Aber, warned KCCA and asked both the political and technical team to warn residents around the landfill to vacate immediately as there is a likelihood of another landfill collapse, which could be very catastrophic.

On May 15, 2024, in Namulanda B Zone, Kajjansi Town Council in Wakiso district, six South Sudanese siblings and two women died in a house fire, and according to preliminary reports, the fire originated from an electronic kettle connected to a socket and was left in the sitting room unattended.
