However, the prison authorities have since revealed that the duo can still be treated in Uganda, stating that their current health state does not require specialized treatment from abroad, as alleged by the party leaders. Nevertheless, Kamara insisted that the High Court should release their leaders on bail and get the required medical attention.
The President said he later learnt from Queen Mother Best Kemigisa that Oyo had left behind a young boy who would eventually be presented to the public.
"He was a freedom fighter, a patriot and a peacemaker. When we engaged, he understood that Uganda needed unity rather than endless conflict," Museveni said.
