South Africa, UK Forensic Team To Re-Examine Bodies of Deceased Citizens

Forensic experts from the UK and South Africa are in Uganda to review the circumstances of the cold murder of their citizens who were in Uganda celebrating their honeymoon with their driver who was also a guide from Uganda.

According to Uganda Police, the body of the Ugandan driver who was also a guide was handed over to his family while the bodies of the foreign nationals are still being kept in the mortuary at Mulago National Referral hospital awaiting review by the sent forensic team to coordinate with the Ugandan joint security investigations, for evaluation of the evidence and analysis of the collected samples.

The joint security agencies stated that, this was a highly regrettable incident that happened to a country which attracts a high number of both local and foreign tourist.

“We extend our condolences to the families and loved ones of those that passed on due to this cowardly attack. We further extend our heartfelt condolences to the British High Commission and South African Commission in Uganda,” Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson said.

Enanga also reassured all Ugandans and visitors that the safety of tourists continues to be a priority.

“We have as a result adjusted and stepped up our patrols along the major roads and high ways in Kasese District, together with road policing measures of neighboring areas. We have also adjusted the deployments at all tourist sites,” He added.

These and other security measures are aimed at guaranteeing security, peace and safety in the country.
