SHACU Arraigns Kashari SACCO Chairperson over Theft of Emyooga Seed Capital

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU), in liaison with Uganda Police, has arraigned Victor Twinomujuni, the Chairperson of Kashari South Youth Leaders SACCO, before the Mbarara Chief Magistrates Court on charges of theft of Emyooga funds.

The communications manager of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, Mariam Natasha, said that Twinomujuni and his accomplices, who are yet to be arrested, stole over Ugx 10 million in cash meant for Emyooga Seed Capital for the SACCO.

Natasha emphasized that the State House Anti-Corruption Unit will arrest all individuals who are found guilty of mismanaging Emyooga and PDM funds.

“State House Anti-Corruption Unit seeks to arrest and charge before the courts persons found culpable for mismanaging Emyooga and PDM funds,” Natasha said.

On February 27, 2024, the corruption unit arraigned Patrick Benerd Mukota, the Busita Sub County LC 3 Chairperson, Hellen Nambozo, and Eddy Magomu before the Sironko Chief Magistrate’s Court over mismanagement of Parish Development Model (PDM) funds.
