SCP Wilson Omoding, the Deputy Director of Operations at Uganda Police, during a brief held at Uganda Police Force Headquarters in Naguru on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, stressed the need for officers to remain focused and avoid making unrealistic commitment and over-promising due to salary increment that sometimes leads to financial mismanagement.
Omoding urged the officers to exhibit the highest level of discipline as ambassadors in Somalia.
“Exhibit the highest level of discipline as ambassadors to uphold the Uganda’s reputation of diplomacy en-route to and from the African Transmission Mission in Somalia (ATMIS),” Omoding said.
He acknowledged the diverse environment faced by the officers while at the mission which needs sacrifice and patience.
He underscored the importance of professionalism and diversity of cultures faced while serving.
Omoding cautioned returning officers to exercise discipline and in case of any query, should seek support from proper channels other than resorting to social media.
The brief was held marking August 14th, 2023, as a significant moment of preparation and inspiration for the officers involved. So far, 12 officers are set to replace the outgoing team this week.
The returning 14 officers were granted a well-deserved fourteen-day rest period.
Omoding congratulated those who had been promoted and expressed best wishes for the officers embarking on the mission to Somalia.
